Last night I watched one of the James Bond movie's with Daniel Craig.
The last one in the series called "No Time to Die"
It might be one of the last good movies that came out of Hollywood...
But this email isn't about what's wrong with Hollywood (lots).
It's about what's wrong with "health".
Your health and mine.
Everyone is trying to optimize their health and live longer... the supplements, the exercise... the health foods...
That's all well and good.
But the most important part of human health has nothing to do with how long you stay alive.
It's more about how "alive" you are while you live.
If we optimize only for staying alive we can actually end more "dead"... not physical dead but sort of spiritually dead where you just exist in a "blah" sort of way.

I don't care if your bloodwork is perfect there is nothing healthy about a life of "blah".
There's this quote at the end of the movie:
“The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.”
It doesn't matter how "healthy" you are if you simply "exist".
You might avoid death but you will also never encounter life.
What to do?
I'm not saying to ditch the healthy habits.
Keep improving and healing.
That stuff is great.

But it's really just a foundation.
It's really just preparation for actually "using your time".
Too many people "just exist".

Too many people "just exist".
Too many people are just trying not to die.
But our mission as humans isn't just "not to die".
Our mission (should we choose to except it) is to live.
Hopefully that made sense.
Still figuring out what that means myself,
Ben
