Quarter Pounder w Cheese Story

Happy last day of February, folks,

I try to promote a healthy lifestyle with this brand, and I try to live one too.

But the truth is I often fall short.

Sometimes the healthy option gets pushed aside for something more convenient...

Yesterday I was on the road all evening and I decided to grab something from Macdonalds (forgive me)... it felt like a compromise for sure...

I hit up the drive through and went for a double quarter pounder with cheese.

I was ready to dig in as I pulled out of the parking lot but then something interesting happened.

I was listening to the Jocko Willink podcast where he interviews his business partner - Pete Roberts - the CEO of an American company called Origin USA that makes everything from scratch in the USA; they literally turn cotton into clothes and stuff. It's sick.

Now, we're Canadian, but these are the sort of dudes I want to learn from.

Anyways,

I was just about to eat my hamburger when the CEO started telling a story about the level of intensity that it takes to win.

I suddenly felt ashamed and inspired at the same time.

This hamburger was not on my path.

This hamburger was not in line with what I was trying to do in my life and with my business.

I would not let mediocrity win the day.

I put down my passenger window and threw the hamburger out the open window.

I missed.

The double quarter pounder with cheese splattered on my passenger dashboard and door... ketchup dripping down the vents and panelling.

Now I felt like a real loser lol.

I pulled over and cleaned up the mess.

I turned the podcast back on and I heard the CEO say something else that stuck with me:

He said people think they are "all in" but they don't even know what that means.

He said until you go all in something you won't make it happen.

Plain and simple.

That might sound extreme but it's just the truth.

And hamburger or no hamburger, it's what I needed to hear on that drive.

I thought I was all in this business but I wasn't acting that way.

Now I am.

Big things coming, we are just getting stared.

In truth and tallow,

Ben
